Kung Fu Tigers and Kung Fu Dragons
Tigers: Ages 5-7 Monday, Wednesday, Friday 5:00-6:00 p.m.
Dragons: Ages 7-13 Monday, Wednesday, Friday 6:00-7:00 p.m.
In Kung Fu Tigers at 5:00 p.m., students will learn the basics of Kung-Fu. Classes begin with running warm up and stretching to avoid injury. Classes usually incorporate an interative agility game at the start to teach the importance of movement. Students are all smiles and laughter while they learn self-defence skills, the importance of respect and the basics of Chinese culture. Students do spar with gear, but no-contact and movement is stressed first. Classes always end with calisthenics to promote increased endurance and agility.
Kung Fu Young Dragons at 6:00 p.m. will follow a similar pattern outlined above. Students who have acheived the first rank of our system (yellow) will be given new knowledge while novice students focus on mastering the basics. Students will spar with gear, learn to use the long staff (and other weapons earned through acheiving higer ranks), do pad work as well as play agility games and discuss Chinese culture. Classes always end with calisthenics to promote strength, flexiblity and agility.
